Pancake nostalgia

Our battered (as in lovingly mistreated as opposed to coated with batter) version of the Edmonds was our staple for a couple of recipes when I was little. Pancakes was one of these, most Saturday mornings my Dad and I would make pancakes together – well he would make them and I would attempt to turn them over without burning myself or setting the kitchen on fire.

To this day I cannot understand why people buy readymade pancake mixes rather than just making them from scratch. I don’t think it’s necessary to add that the pancakes were good. Very good.

I agree with you,the bought pancake mixes are soooo sweet ! I used to get pancakes made for breakfast by my kids when they were little. In fact the kids were too young to cook and my lovely husband sucked at it as well,so i was served up under and over, but rarely well cooked offerings and had to gag them down best as I could.Great memeories.I love your style and check each day in hope of another post.

Hi anonymous - great name by the way. I get the subtle hint. Must. Do. More. Blogging. I promise to get onto it, I have been unbelieveably slack and I keep getting distracted by the modern wonders of the internet. Not a problem they had in '66 I guess.
Thanks for reading, nice to know there is someone out there!
